We are God's Workmen

S. "You have an abundance of workmen: stonecutters, masons, carpenters, and all kinds of craftsmen without number, skilled in working gold, silver, bronze, and iron. Arise and work! The Lord be with you!" 1 Chronicles 22: 15-16

O. These verses come as words of David to his son Solomon pertaining to the building of the Temple. David had gathered supplies and was helping Solomon begin the work that David had desired to do. I was struck by the statement of the ample supply of workers for the task of the Lord. Two things some to mind...first, when God sets in our hearts a work to do, He will ALWAYS provide what we need. This is an element of face for us. We must believe that God will provide all the people and resources for his work. We just have to be faithful to acknowledge this and use all that is provided. Second, when I think about the work that God has called Pea Ridge to do, I must be confident that all those servants at Pea Ridge will realize that God is doing and join him in that work. We are the workmen that God has provided...we are the ones whom God has trained and equipped to do His work in our church.

A. My preaching in the next few weeks will focus on our lives as servants and volunteers for His work. I will be sensitive to all that God is doing and who God has been around us.

P. "Lord, thank you for the gifted people you have placed in my life. May we all be focused on you and our hearts set upon your work. Amen"
